I want to change my avatar to a more cutout design of my current pic. I dislike the square style image. I've seen multiple ppl with a cutout design and it looks super clean. Please advise! I use GIMP

Png files (transparent background).
Not sure if you can do it with gimp but pretty sure well if is minimum good photo editor...
