On this one I changed the image behind the actual logo to something with more action as well as changing some colors and contrast. It also has more depth now. It might be a hit or miss but here's my second attempt:

it's a bit too much color alteration i think sorry the colors seem oversaturated and it lost some of the brilliance the original had
