Spent only about 2 hours on it, and I could go on for several more on this, but I just wanted to see your confirmation that it's on the right track :)
The perspective isn't off, it was a deliberate shift. There's more 3D depth in the picture by making one turn towards you and one turn away. However, this is a totally optional style.

Does your client want it to archaic and more 'symbolic' looking (like some flat tomb carving)? Or do they want it to be more of the slanted, lively style I'm doing? Your call.
Also, by now, do you have any idea what meaning your client wants to represent with this? If you do, I can try to emphasize on it.

Adjusted proportions, changed the sketch a bit so both chameleons are purely side view, but with the arms and legs intertwined and a curled tail tip. That way, the whole spinny feel of the picture feels twisty even in the details.

Don't mind the scribbly arms on the right, that's just unfinished sketching. If you want this concept fleshed out a little more or the concept changed some more, let me know.
Afterwards if you're comfortable enough with the progress, I can fully turn it into a clean sketch with a bunch more detail for the aforementioned 5k fg. Let me know, brother.

Vouch Jittles and his work. He's by far one of the best I've seen on Jsp.
