Hello, not an artist - but I'd love to see some renderings of the Egyptian God Ra if you just want material to do something with. Theres a lot of material out there in terms of humanoid characters of him.

As far as building a portfolio goes, its probably the most important aspect in terms of helping you move into any career - especially an artistic one. (working on a GIS/system modeling type of portfolio myself).
