Hey guys,

on my way looking for a "new" online game to play with my real life friend, I found Aion and might give it a shot.

Got some small starter questions:

1. What server should I choose if I want to trade at jsp (I'm EU/German, but I don't mind playing any english speeking server)

2. What faction to chose? What's the big difference between Elyos and Asmo? Is it like in WoW that the more human faction Elyos is played by all the kids?

3. How is endgame PvP? Is it worth a Shot? Is there 2vs2 or something like that?

4. Any advice for what char to play? I always prefered casters. In WoW a mage/warlock/shadow. Is there something similar here?

1: No idea, there aren't many aion traders in d2jsp.
2: The big difference - the look imo and some skills/stigmas/items. Depends on server which faction are kids.
3. PvE is boring after some time. Imo the fun of Aion is based on PvP. There are some pvp instances, open pvp, huge battles etc.
4. If you want a caster play mage. You can choose between SM (Summons, DoT's, Debuffs...) and a Wizzard (dmg, ..). But even a cleric can play offensive.

I play Siel elyos. I currently have about 300m in stock to do some trading if you want. It's also one of the two most populated NA servers.

Elyos has the majority of the playerbase, asmodian gets some perks like faster leveling. Etc.

End game pvp is pretty intense. I haven't gotten their yet but yeah. A lot of people do it. Pretty much the main activity.

Casters are nasty. Sorc is a power house, SM is cool, has elemental pets and fears and whatnot. I play spirit master as my caster. There's also some new classes coming out with 4.0. Shouldn't be long. Things like bard, gunner, etc. Not sure of the exact names.

There is no PVP anymore, just Zerg vs Zerg... Eye Zerging is like pingpong.. If you want fun PVP again, you go twink level 50.

If you're new to Aion, but played loads of MMORPG before I would go Cleric or Chanter (Priest). You will always find a group, and it is fun to play PVP.
Clerics may aswell be the most anoying thing to kill PVP except for templars.
