Played game for about 4 months when it first released.. Never touched it since. Decided to come back since its free..

So.... Does that make my old account I recovered a veteran status? or a free status?

if you played at least 1 month and payed for it you will get a Veteran Account :) and some other nice stuff

Sigh... so annoying

downloaded 10 GB of patches for the old Aion..

Not realizing Aion free to play is a whole new client apparently..
