I feel chanters are more fun with, but they're the most gimped class for pvp... however if used appropriately can and will be a threat.

There aren't many chanters that can actually use the class like so, but it's a very fun class.

It's my favorite class to duo with, either me being the chanter or some other character :)

Very versatile, but learning to jumpshot heals/when to kite/keep an eye on certain cd's is a must, and also chanters aren't truly effective come 45+.

Late bloomers, but very fun :)

Edit: The class is highly based off RNG, more so than a ranger to the point where you literally hit either 10 damage to 2k kinda deal for some skills, aswell as several other skills with huge damage ranges.

If RNG favors you, you can smash classes if spec'd right, but that's not always the case, and due to the toughness of the class to actually perform decent with, most people consider them the worst pvp character. (Solo mainly, the class is designed to roll with other players though, it's a you scratch my back i scratch yours class :) )

If doing a duo you could try Glad/Chanter.

But templar/cleric would be better for those new to the game, at least for farming elite/certain hero mobs for gear :)
