Spiritmaster = very simple to play, able to solo level pretty well with pet, has some cc utility and can fear, has loot buff
Sorcerer = best cc class, high dps, very useful in groups

Spiritmasters are very useful in end game pvp.
Aoe fears in dredg are insane, always hate when it happens to me but love having an sm in my own group.
Can easily take on multiple pvp opponents at once if you know what you are doing.

Sorcerers can also take on multiple people easily with the cc they have.
Have high overall dps and some really high damage spells making for some quick pvp kills.

With SM's you have to worry about controlling your pet and utilizing your fear to stay alive if enemies get close.

Sorc's you need to either kill your opponent quicky with high burst or be good at kiteing your enemy around.

They are both squishy like all clothies so death will come quick if your shield spell is taken down.

Both are good in PvE groups so you should be able to find groups quick no matter which one you roll.

SM = damage over time + fears
Sorc = straight up quick damage

Rangers and Sms dominate the world of pvp in aion. Rangers more so than Sms. Anyone telling you otherwise is on crack. However, in the end it all comes down to the skill one has using a certain class and the gear and level difference.
