Strongest? They're decently well balanced end game. One negative is gear dependent classes (Mainly assassins) are looked at to be balanced off of K-Aion which has been out for over a year, and everyone has the gear there.
Sorcerer
Pros:
East to level
Great Damage
Great Crowd Control
One of the best at PvP in the pre-50 bracket, can often one shot most classes.
Cons:
Horrible Defenses (If stuff is hitting you prepare for it to REALLY take a bit of your health..)
Overpowered-ness in PvP doesn't scale at 50, before long classes you could one shot will be dropping you regularly.
Prepare to have to chug mana pots.
Spirit Masters
Pros:
Easy to level (A bit slower then a Sorc, but still easy)
Good/Decent solo damage, do less in big groups.
Great Snares.
At the moment probably the best PvP class on the ground pre-50, not as effective but if played with a different style does good in the air vs melee
Cons:
Pets can't fly (Supposedly upcoming patch to let pets fly) making them weaker in the air.
Same horrible defenses as Sorcerers
They aren't as much of a win-all class at 50 either, like they was leveling.
Little easier on mana, but prepare to use many pots.
Assassins
Pros:
Great damage, if you're geared
Easy leveling, if you're geared
Currently the best pvp class at 50, again. If you're geared.
Heavy stuns
Fast movement speed
With practice and skill very good class
Cons:
Without surgical precision on playing they get a LOT weaker
No snares making killing anyone difficult unless you stun lock them out
Horrible class without gear, and expect gear to take forever to get and not viable to get as you're leveling if its your first character
Defenses are horrible
Gear for them is expensive, the price of 2h is the same as 1h, and you need two 1h's. (Glad / Sorc / SM / Ranger / Chanter all use a two handed weapon)
Ranger
Pros:
Many Snares
Good in pvp at nearly all brackets except super low levels, They pick up in the 30s.
VERY quick leveling (Nearly all the first 50s was Rangers)
Cons:
Completely horrible class at low levels, until 19 prepare to either kill stuff low having to kite, or pretending to be an assassin with nearly no skills.
Bow isn't really that high of damage comparatively, I've heard on K-Aion Rangers use dual swords for killing quick in PvE, and a Bow only in PvP to allow them to have all their stuns/snares to control the opponent.
Requires Kiting, a lot of kiting.
Keep up with arrows (I never liked having to keep up with this in any game.. sorry)
Gladiator
Pros:
Easy class to play
Decent leveling speed
Decent survivability
Decent damage
Decent pvp all the way through
Cons:
Boringly simple class to play MOSTLY.
Several of the GOOD pvp stigmas are extremely expensive for their level
The most overplayed class in the game
Got to head out soon....
clerics, healers, insane survivability with heals hard to kill very slow killing
templars, tanks, doesnt take much damage, very needed class on most servers, slow killing, one of the best solo pvp classes at higher levels
chanters weakish heals, okish damage, weakish defense - ok defenses combined with the ability to heal makes them a pretty decent class, heavy buffs to help everyone else. Not really a good solo class, but the buffs make up for it to your group members.
To a new player:
Want to be wanted? Play a Templar/Cleric. Slow grindy leveling but good classes overall.
Want to be DPS? SM / Ranger / Sorc
Want to be the supposed best but have to work your butt off korean style for it? Go Assassin
Wanna be the class thats so simple you can play with one macro button thats the most botted class? Go gladiator
Want to be able to fill several backup rolls, be liked in groups, and be able to grind easily? Go chanter
truth very well put. the templar is very wanted. up untill about level 20 you have to solo grind most of the shit after that you can start doing tc/bc which is decent xp and a steady cash flow. as a templar when you're solo grinding i prefer to go 2h sword and full crit stones in my armor. currently im grinding out in morheim around the volcano and i can tank and hit for about 400-800. its a pretty fun class everyone wants one in their grp but be prepared to do a lot of hard work
