Hi everyone! I figured I would give this game a try. Anyone have any advice on which character type to start with? I have heard mixed reviews on the crafting system...which professions are the best to master? Any other tips on starting the game are appreciated.

Sorc: Decient Soloing
SM: Amazing Soloing
Cleric: Healer, rather party
Chanter: Essential in PvE, while PvP makes them useless, I have heard them referred to as the Ret Pally of Aion.
Assassin: Glass Cannon
Ranger: Sucks until 19, then amazing.
Templar: Tank, party with a DPS class(ie assassin)
Glad: Good surviablity while a good out put.

So a Spiritmaster would be a great class to test the games storyline with then?

Which would be best to test the PvP aspect of the game? Or is the Spiritmaster good for PvP also?

shitmasters are retardedly op. if played half-way decent they can kill anyone in a 1v1 and most 2v1 situations

As being a ranger. Trap/sleep pet, stuns. poisons, kite = win.
^^ I barely lose a 1v1 cept to Clerics and a good Chanter, damn their heals!

Assassins can drop SM before SM even realizes they're there.
Rangers have silence, gfg.
Sorc has better CC and fuckrape nukes.
Cleric heal > SM dps.
Templars are best late game 1v1 PvP in 1.5, 'nuff said.

Well, from what has been said so far I will probably make a Spiritmaster first to experience the PvE aspect of the game. I am still undecided on the PvP character.

No one wants SM in party for group PvE anyways. Play only if you really like soloing.
