Can anyone who's played the two, describe how well they play soloing? I'm torn between rolling one of the two (a gladiator or ranger/assassin) and would like to choose the one that's best for solo leveling.

glad--owns mobs fast
ranger--no idea
assassin--haven't played (my friend did in beta, and he does now) says that it's hard to solo, but with a tank they own

I actually play glad, and I find it a lot of fun. Seeing you played wow, it's similar to an arms warrior

Hm, I'm hearing that the speed of solo leveling is something like assassin > gladiator > ranger and that sins pretty much have no downtime?

my friend played it until 20 on beta and said it sucked solo, but i really don't know for ya, sorry bro

but as glad, i have no downtime for a lot of kills, if you want virtually no downtime, then go templar. lol

Glad is the best leveler by far. Assasin have to rely on stuns and cooldown to successfully do their backstabs, and they are squishy so they have to heal after every fight. Rangers are terrible until level 19. Then, they become one of the best solo class. Glad do alot of dmg and have plate armor.
