Anyone here on d2jsp get a good chance to play the newer game by NCSoft Aion: The tower of Eternity? (beta, ofc)

I haven't gotten a chance to play the game yet, but i'm interested in what people around here are saying about the game.

I smell a wow addict

I have not personally played it but I have a couple friends who have been playing it pretty consistently. As long as you're not looking for any serious innovation over the current MMO model (except maybe wings, and even thats debatable) then it's a solid MMO. Nothing exceptional, but a very solid MMO. It's a new environment with new monsters and pretty graphics. If you're tired of what you're playing then it may be worth your time. If you're looking for something completely new and exciting then look elsewhere.

No it's happened to many games before Age of conan, Warhammer etc.. that were soupossed to be the greatest thing to ever come out..

not so much they had there 1 month of fame then the games died i don't see aion getting past this stage

Honestly misfit, I thought the exact same thing as you did until I played this game. Especially with ncsoft's reputation on their past games that I have played.

It's a pretty fun game. Ncsoft actually did a good job on this unlike lineage2. From my experience in playing the beta, I had a ton of fun.
The music and graphics are very impressive. Everything from the combat system from the interface is actually thought out pretty well. If you're an avid WoW player, I suggest at least picking this up. I've played WoW for about 3 years and this game feels like it blows it away.

Really there isn't any harm in blowing away 5 dollars to get into the beta to try out the game for yourself if you really think it may become a failure. You even get some additional items that are useful if you preordered the game and actually buy it.
This is worth your time to give it a chance, trust me.

im playing it in closed beta

I was basically looking for something that's different from World of Wacraft, from what i've seen on the game so far it looks really fun. :x I just finally got the game working after 2 entire days of getting it to work to find out that one of the beta events had JUST closed. so now I have to wait until the 17th to try the game out.

but, I think i'll enjoy it alot. I'm mostly bored of everything else right now, and Aion looked like a nice refreshing game.

One of my friends was getting anal with some cash shop thing with the wings how you can buy an item to make it last another minute longer and he says the pvp system is going to be all about the cash shop blah blah which also initially turned me offf
