Thanks for your input man. I think the breaking point is not having anyone else to play with steadily - I have a really weird schedule and thus I am limited to PUGs.
I don't read the Quest Text lol, because like you said the lore is not so good in Aion. But there are still only two types of quests - Kill/Gather which is pretty boring.
I expanded my cube to the fullest, and still had a severe lack of space - not a big issue but still something that I disliked; same with the gold amounts and spammers - yah I can handle it but I don't think I want to.
Don't get me wrong there is definitely a ton of potential in this game, I will probably come back in a couple months and give it another shot

Probably an old post and you may have already found an answer to that, but - your cube can expand up to 108 slots. 99- of these slots are already obtainable, you just need to get to the right level

Space will always be an issue, especially if you start leveling proffessions (which are quite a tedious thing to do, but in the end the rewards and the economic benefits you get from them severely undermine the boring feeling of getting them up).
Lore wise I only bothered so far to check the vids that pop here and there when you do campaign quests.
The leveling can get pretty annoying if you are a solo player and dont enjoy grinding but the higher level you get, the more skills you unlock giving you atleast a bigger array of skills to use when killing mobs

When you get above level 40 SM's are probably the best grinders out there. You can kill masses of mobs at the same time with hardly any downtime, solo grind elites from 36 up (i found that when leveling my sorc, trying to solo Ice-claw village elites was just a royal waste of time with the quest availability out there).
The patch that has just passed has given us an increase in quest exp, a slight decrease in the exp-penalty that you'd get pre-patch when doing instances / grinding with higher level people so it has become a bit less tedious getting up to 40. Loot chances have also increased, meaning that you wont have to do 100 Fire temple runs to finally see a good drop from Kromede

25-29 gets out of the way like a breeze if you just continually run TC. From 29 up you have endless opportunities to get into pugs wanting to clear elite quests.
If you're a pvper you can just go ahead and do that instead in the meantime, get a couple of puggies, find a rift and have some fun on the other side

Don't lose faith just yet, try and experience as much of the game as you can, to atleast get your money's worth
