Game just comes out with a pretty good starting number, why would they give away free trials, NCSoft has other games, Guild Wars, Lineage, etc.
By no means do they need a free promotional deal yet.

And if you kids LOVE wow so much, why even ask about a free trial, this game won't do it for you..

Ehhh, I wouldn't go as far as saying that this won't to it for a WoW lover. My wife is head over heels about WoW, and I got her to try Aion and well, it seems that she may like this game more then WoW.

It really just depends on the person. If you tried Age of conan and liked it, and also enjoy the feel of WoW. This game is for you.
It has the same graphic style as AoC, and a similar fight feel to it but mixed in with WoW and wings.

Oh I agree, but some of these people, their posts were just dumb.
I like this game, it seems like a nice mix, the leveling is actually fun.
Def. a sort of wow feel, but I like it even more I think, maybe just because it is still new, fresh and exciting.

Wow=stale for me now, very boring. I just can't get into it.

WoW holds over 30% of all the mmorpg players world-wide, it's not dying at all. People just get bored of it but as said already: for each person that quits there are 2 newcomers to replace.

Aion will never recieve even 1/3 of the popularity that WoW has today.
I don't like WoW myself for several reasons but I must give credit to this game for it's popularity, there are millions that like this game and if you just don't like this game it's not a reason to bash the ones playing it.
In 10 years it's only Blizzard that can create a more popular game than WoW, noone else. Hopefully Diablo3 will become one.

Let's analyze this:

WoW's player base is estimated 12 million.

1/3 of 12 million is 4million.

Before the game even launched, Aion had a record player base of 400,000 from pre-orders (More than vanilla WoW which had just over 200k).

The game is gaining popularity at a remarkable rate; to claim it is incapable of reaching a player base of 4million is pure ignorant speculation.

OBVIOUSLY, people posting in the Aion section are going to say Aion > Wow, just as wow players will say the opposite.

It never hurts to try something new, no regrets here, I love the game.
