There won't be an open beta. Open beta is used for stress testing a game's servers and with the channel system built in aion, there's absolutely no need for that. It's incredibly smart and I personally would've never thought of it.
You gotta put down 5 dollars to preorder the game to get into the closed beta and it only lasts a few days. We're on closed beta 6 I think.

AoC is Dead but Warhammer isn't. Dying maybe (due to Aion beta and other factors), but certainly not dead. It's in top 5 subscriber base. They merged a bunch of low pop servers so there's a lot of people around and pretty good competition, I can't play it anymore though.

I got pretty bored of warhammer. I really thought it was going to be a great game since aoc's pvp apparently was quite good, but I was wrong. The grind was just too annoying and far too tedious for a game that revolved around pvp. My class also kind of turned me off from playing too. That combined with tedious grind = quitting. I honestly just went back to wow after seeing that game, but wotlk didn't exactly bring anything groundbreaking for veteran players. Just more imbalance.
