i played FF 11? i think one of them online

and i needed TONS of gil to do ANYTHING and a full group of nice, cooperative people who want 2 level up

those 2 things were EXTREMELY hard to find/ get , and caused me to sit at lvl 42 for a month and quit the game

either i had to buy gil with $$ or know A LOT about the game to fig out how to make quick gil(which fishing was only thing i could do at the time)

is aion kind of the same way??

im wanting to try it, but i dont want to spend my time on aion 24/7 for 3 months fig out how to play

is it worth it? someone tell me the ups and downs?

d2 you can get stuff u need by mfing a week or 2 in hell;.....

shako/occy/etc

Level restrictions on weapons prevent you from getting things ahead of time and quests and group drops keep you geared up nicely for your level... money can buy more rare upgrades but you don't *need* to have lots of money to buy your gear. It's definitely not as fast-paced as Diablo... it's an MMO... not much different from the others out there.
