I'm a graphics design dabbler. ...maybe more of an occasional drippler.

I made my sig bar for myself last night and I've got some time to kill before the new D2 ladder kicks off today. I'd love to try to make some sig bars for others so if you're interested, just let me know here. I'm not terribly good at it, so a basic request like this would be great:

- pick an object (like "I want Tyrael") or an object type (like "I want something from Diablo"). It doesn't have to be limited to Diablo stuff either. Maybe you want "A corvette" or "some bad ass sexy car" or "something motorsports" or... you get the idea.
- tell me an ideal color you would like to see incorporated in the sig bar. Maybe it's your favorite color? Or just a color you like to see in these forums? Or just the color you decided to throw at this.
- any other abstract info is great like "I'm bubbly and happy and love kitties yay!" or "I'm a total masochist and hate everything including you, thanks in advance for the free sig, I hope you die after, bye." or whatever, that can also be helpful.

I'll incorporate the elements and concepts and post the result in this thread. It'll be basic probably, but I still want to give it a shot.

I saw your request only a few minutes after you posted it, and I think it took me A LONG TIME to put this together, so not feeling very fast about it but hopefully it's a coherent package that makes sense. Thank you for throwing something out there for me to try. This is fun!

I think they're not supposed to exceed 400px wide, yeah? Anyway, any "spoonfeed the idiot" info you can share on the matter would be appreciated.

not much more info than 400x150px and 70kb in size for signatures
i dont really understand the limit either but i dont think signatures unlock any hidden potential beyond that size so im ok with it

I've personally thought signature dimensions should have a low height. I think it degrades the user experience when most people only post 1 sentence or two per post but then their sig gobbles up like 14 more lines of screen real estate. It's mentally cumbersom to have to sift through screens of signatures to read one line at a time. That's why the examples I've made have been low height, but I obviously missed the width thing. All that being said (as I've mentioned in the post I linked) these parameteres seem to have been arbitrated during an era where bandwidth and screen real estate were much different than today. Reading this forum in 1080 is Squint-tic-tacular, and the signature sizes look like shady ads from websites you should closse before you accidently click one and get a virus. It's just not visually sensible in a 1080px era, and that era is almost dead now that 2k/4k/5k is here. Maybe that's why I haven't been mod'd yet on my sig (which by the way I'm in the process of modifying it so it WILL conform to 400px width soon since I understand now that's still the official signature rules for the present time).
