So im kinda semi new to making signatures. I use the free program gimp. Im having a hard time finding good fonts to use.
whats the most common font people use for signatures?
also how do you make the signature font glow or outline it.

heres some examples as to what I mean (random peoples signatures from jsp that I liked the font)

1. Is a black with 3px Stroke in blue.
2. Looks like White with red outer glow.

You can find those Settings in Layer Style

Text is probably just as hard to do successfully as making the actual sig for beginners.
Text often ruins an otherwise good sig for most cases, which is why my requests often stated no text required.
Dafont is nice because you can preview custom text that you want.
Custom text is often in/out of style though. The default fonts are timeless, but often used poorly.

Just right click the text layer for blending options. You'll find the outer glow and other settings there.
