Learning to work in C4D will take you time. Start by browsing youtube and start with the introduction level if it's too hard for you/you don't have any experience with 3D tools.

Regarding the smudge settings, you will just have to experiment.

You will learn that initiative is most important at getting better.

Good luck.

Go to google and type in signature tutorial and look for one that designs a smudge brush within the tut. Continue looking for good smudge brushes then design your own ;) Some of the best looking smudge techniques are rarely copy/paste (see this everyday) smudge.

How much do you know about 3D modeling? Learn what are points, lines, segments, polygons and what you can do with them. Learn the basics first since most programs are based on those basic principles. And saying "i want to learn C4D", you should be more specific on what you want to learn. You start with basic shapes, since more complicated forms are usually composed of those. Learn what are the limitations and create, best way of learning. We can't do it for you.

Maybe even start in blender, its free and offers quite a lot.

When I talk about C4D, I am talking about that, they use black c4d but mine never seem to work or be in the context..

When it comes to just using C4D's in signatures, there is usually a lot of additional adjustment layers with burn/overlay properties.
