I was wondering if I should buy Photoshop flat out? I think it is something around 80 on ebay up too 120. Or i see adobe has it for $10 a month...no sure what the catch is there..i guess you can cancel at any time.

LMK guys!

The point of me using Photoshop is for experience. I am a newbie in the Computer Tech field and want to learn more too make myself more valuable.

As for graphic design what do you think is the most used program and the most useful!

Well if you want a good program that can do a lot of the same things as photoshop can do that is free get GIMP
if you have the money to spend on photoshop go for it

there are other ways to get photoshop that i wont say but there might be people at your college/school that can get you a copy from a graphic design class etc

as for other usefull programs there is adobe aftereffects and other adobe software that alote of people use in the tech field there is also c4d aka cinema 4D if you want to learn how to make 3D renderings and animated things this is a good program

there may be more that i dont no gl

p.s.
if you are in a work inviroment that people use photoshop you can ask one of them for a coppy

and i would also suggest a Wacom tablet for digital sketching etc but you may want to wait till you are more knowledgeable about photoshop etc before delving into that, it just makes it easier.

Depends what you are aiming for and what are your purposes.

In my opinion the real greatness of Photoshop is not the software itself, which is truly amazing, but the fact it can cooperate with almost all other Adobe software.
Giving you some examples if you are editing a layout for publishing purposes in InDesign you can just right click on any picture and edit them on PS, then they will automatically update.
Or you can just ctrl + c a vector from Illustrator and ctrl + v it on Photoshop. You can edit frames for a video footage in Photoshop while you are editing the timeline in Premiere.
These and infinite other options are the strength point of Adobe.

So if you are planning to use many Adobe software go and buy the CC, it totally worth it and I believe they deserve money for their awesome work.

Why would you buy only Photoshop then? Well here the options become much fewer. Perhaps you like Photography, that would make PS more than enough for your purposes.
You get PS, integrated Camera Raw and Lightroom, if I recall correctly. That's a kind of package Adobe offers instead of the whole suite.
Otherwise...you are a painter? Perhaps you want to approach digital painting? Using a Wacom tablet and sketching and painting! Well that would be another reason you need Photoshop only.

If you are not aiming for such kind of goals then I would discourage you to buy Photoshop. You'd end not knowing what to do with it and, trust me, Photoshop is just an immense software.
I use it regularly every day since 10 years and there are still features I am discovering or that I wasn't aware of.
In this case I'd suggest you to get a freeware such as Gimp or you can just go on www.pixlr.com (it's a browser editor).

Again, that's just my modest point of view but I can talk with a bit of experience since I am a graphic designer, I both paint on PS and edit photos as well I use it combined with other Adobe products,
even 3D softwares such Rhinoceros or V-Ray (for HDRI and texture purposes) on the daily basis.
I own myself the whole genuine Adobe CC and I have worked for quite a while in a comics' publishing house with many Adobe products.
