The lady that owns my local UPS store has asked for my help with 'Welding' in photoshop / illustrator.

Google just provides 100s of videos on adding weld effects to text or animation.

What does the term mean? Just combining layers to make one image or what?

Thanks for the help, this term I've never heard.

Not sure its an actual effect or just a technique, but she probably misheard someone talking about melding two images together.

Like you said, it's probably just about combining the layers and making it look like one picture

It's definitely not a term I've ever heard or used, and I don't think any tool, feature, or effect is called 'weld/welding'.

What card said, she probably meant melding , which is also not really a term, all that comes to mind is photo/image manipulation , 2 or more images coming together to form a single image, there's plenty of videos on it

Or just ask what she meant

She def meant to say blending..thats what photoshop is all about

Blending is a great word choice, but it also makes it clear why a woman would say welding though - in her mind tech stuff is men's work and men weld shit together and call it a day.
Maybe it should be called welding - as in i'm a graphic welder, a 21st century blacksmith- kinda sounds cool.
