no it stays wherever you downloaded it to... also I dont even keep a folder for fonts because once I install them they're in photoshop for good.

You still have to delete the remaining font after installing, because hitting the install button duplicates the font into the same fonts folder I was originally referring to. My process is click, click, click, drag. Your process is double click, click install, then delete.
Describing one process being
literally more
complicated is pretty trivial, considering we're talking about milliseconds here. Also, my method is technically more user friendly, because not everyone knows you can delete the font after install.
