I suppose my original statement could have a double meaning, so I'll extrapolate. When I say 'resize' I meant each frame had to be resized so jake was the same size for each frame. The original gif zooms in, so jake gets larger. This required a lot of tweaking to reduce the shakiness. When I say 'cut out' I meant clip out the background of each frame, so the background stayed the same to reduce file size. I obviously did resize the overall length/width and cut out full frames as well, which it seems you're referring to. Then I recropped, resized, and recolored until I got it under the file size limit.
Side note: your sig is really awesome. That's a beautiful font. I love the crop job tangents the leaf creates as it just barely touches the edges. Ideally it would have more jpeg though, but I suppose there is a limit to just how jpegy an image can get, especially in a gif.
