Well - I think your "eye" for it is certainly a lot better than other new artists on the forums.

The final products are still a bit lacking though and I think following a few more tuts, experimenting with different settings yourself, and avoiding font / text for now would benefit you most.

practice makes perfect.

also your tags could use some sharpness. add a new layer => image=> apply image=>filter=>other=>high pass=>set mode to lighten
