I am wanting to create (in my opinion) an easy graphic using After Effects. I don't have the experience to figure it out on my own, so I'm looking for some help. Essentially, I am wanting a fish to be reeled into a boat. Both the boat and the fish are clipart images and I can figure out how to move the boat in and the fish in and up (as it's being reeled). However, I can't figure out how to give the effect of a fishing line going down to get the fish, and then being reeled back up with the fish attached.

All this will be on a blue background using white images. This is not live footage.

I don't have time to help, but I think more details are required for others to assist, if possible. Does this need to be HD? 720/1080? What's it for? A stop motion gif in photoshop with a straight line would be pretty basic, but if you want a realistic line cast, then that requires animation.

HD would be nice. I don't need a realistic line cast.

Right now I have a Clipart boat that I have animated to come into the screen. Then a fish come a in (clipart). A line drops from the boat, the fish comes over, and the line with the fish cones up. The line is just a white line.

I created it in AE because I know how to animate the boat and the fish. I just need the line animated down and up. Can't figure it out.
