I've taken thousands of pictures, including pictures of animals. Clipping an image is essentially tracing. Your high effort doesn't necessarily translate well into a small, solid black shape that's 200 pixels wide. The profile of the bird also isn't that great. Googling 'eagle silhouette' produces a lot more interesting compositions that don't have wings covering the face.

Don't ask for opinions if you don't want them.

I completely agree, it looks like moosh on a transparent backdrop. With poor outlining skills on the back, head, and lower feathers + the tail feathers.

It honestly looks like the image was ripped from somewhere, over composed, and then cut out with an eraser tool while being uncareful.

Texture to keep things real is good and I'm sure because of that you didn't worry about it, but with this particular image it doesn't fly. And it just looks sloppy.

Take my signature for example, it was made on a 4 inch touch screen without a pen, just by finger. Using Android creation apps. It's sloppy on purpose and actually fits into that category since afterall, it is a dirt cleaning image :P

My description isn't subjective. My comments technically lack opinion, so it has nothing to do with taste. I described your signature as being 3 layers with 2 effects, which it is, which also isn't a flame.. It's Shape+Shape+Text. Taking the reference picture for the silhouette doesn't inherently make the end product better. If your camera has the ability to take multiple pictures per second, then you would've ideally had shots of the bird in different positions to choose from. The timing of the shot hides the bird's head and doesn't differentiate both wings. It could be a picture of a vulture, but it's not obvious.

If you want opinions to judge my taste, then I would describe the signature as abrasive. The red and black are very stark..the red was eye dropped from the stock swatches. The bevel flattens the silhouette. Based on the bevel and drop shadow angles, the light source seems to be coming from the ground, which seems unnatural. The parts of white text against the standard, light blue d2jsp background lacks contrast. Due to the size of sigs, a different font would suit the medium. Serif fonts tend to get pixelated at this size.

I'm bored, so you can have this if you want..
