I am having some trouble with this

I consider myself slightly above beginner in doing signatures/photoshop work

but I try and follow tutorials often;that being said, I find it difficult to properly follow tutorials and their suggestions with different renders/c4d stocks/color layouts

Any suggestions on how too? I dont feel like copying an exact tutorial to end with the exact same result is beneficial.

finding renders with similar flow to the render used is the way?

This.
I usually look at multiple tutorials and try and take something from each.
