scrap the border........................
the contrast is crap for a b/w. b/w needs a larger variance in darker blacks and to balance the whites or it just looks washed out like it is
the text being the darkest thing distracts so much, why

My eye's have no idea where to look.

The c4d on the left side looks out of place. The c4d in front of her looks good though.

In addition, I still want the tag darker.

But more darken overall, or any specific places that maybe should increase depth?

As someone who knows nothing about creating graphics (not much anyway), I'm only giving you this opinion as someone from the outside: You're making progress :) Each one is looking a bit better, so keep it up :)

Try using the burn tool in certain areas.

it's not that there's not enough difference between the black and the white, it's that there's an overwhelming presence of contrast that distracts the eye from the focal, most notably on the right half of the tag.

you want to frame your focal in contrast to attract the eye

notice how the focal, the "wanderer" is framed by contrast so that it stands out, and then the ridges in the background lead towards him; the rocks in the foreground as well.

this is one correct example of how to frame your focal in contrast to attract the eye

e: the contrast between the fog and the ridges, again, serves to draw the eye towards the focal
