anyone ever done extensive photo retouches?

portraits/landscapes and such.. ISO good resources to learn some good techniques for retouching. ( obviously in PS )

and not that overdone shit where its uber smudge/blur soft skin!

Watch some of the new features of CS5 and CS6. Recently they've added a lot of Content Aware in CS5/CS6 and some really impressive photo enhancing tools in CS6. I believe it's called Camera Raw 7.0. You can search for some of those tutorials on youtube.
