Alright so I was an old school user (my old account was several years before this one and I lost access to it and started this one...) and have been gone from the forums for a long time... Life, kids, work... you know the usual time constraints.

That being said I have been browsing the graphic request forum for about a week now and I am curious:

What the hell happened to this place?

When I left the graphic request form was a place to market your talents and more importantly BUILD the talents of others. When someone submitted an attempt at a request the person did so without fear of the horrendous attacks that seem to plague the forum now. I mean I understand a little friendly competition but some of these posts are just ridiculous. I mean people are actually fighting on the forum.

Putting down each others work and flat out being disrespectful... Rather than taking a little extra effort and telling the artist what they like and don't like or what they could or not do next time...

Look we all know not every one is a Photoshop Genius and to be honest the work that is done here really isn't that talented in the effect that (most) everyone uses stocks and renders and no one actually designs a signature from start to finish completely of their own talents (myself included).

But what is talent is how the people bring the renders and stocks together, the colors and the brushing, the style and flare. And every person deserves the right to showcase their work without fear of needless insults or be subject to a grudge war taking place on the topic where they are trying to post their work. And yet now the responses are "This is garbage" or "You're joking right?", "You won't get anywhere with that weak @ss sh!t"

Like I said I was an old school user and perhaps it just is a sign of the times and the changing environment. I can understand wanting good work for your FGs, but the lack of artistic support is baffling to me...

Anyone?

Where are the MODs?

and the people who founded the community for what it is?

Hell where are the people that just posted to your work to make you feel better about yourself... sometimes that was all it took to bring a person from mediocre to hardcore sig designer...

It's been like this for awhile now, and from what I can tell so many random people come in here and post up random work.
But once criticism is given to them they cry, or say that whoever is giving the criticism is wrong.
It gets annoying quick, so they just try to keep it a small group or guys and don't let new guys in

They do help some guys though

I could see that, I mean cliques will form. It's just how social creatures are. And I understand the bombardment of "throw-up" posters making it necessary to cull someone the posts down.

However getting criticism is one thing... I.E. "Your shading could use some work it is all over the place..." and what people are doing is another... I.E. "Your sh!t sucks man... don't bother just stop while your ahead"

The latter I would have a problem with as well... The former I would at least take into consideration
