I think it turned out pretty well, there are obviously a few things that could be changed on it and a few little things aswell that could have been cut better etc but any feedback?

So the main thing to making a good overlay with any theme is to imitate the stylings of the theme, not simply copy/paste. The rocket launchers are fine to copy paste because those are a direct image that people can recognize but the rest should be self done of the metal framing imitating the metal style of her rocket launcher.

Another thing to remember, you don't want any focus details in areas that are already an important focus, such as Jynx face right on top of the main interaction area of the game. The reason you always see those types of focuses and details in the areas you put the rocket launchers are because there is no predetermined player focus set in those areas, they are free space to explore and detail.

Also, as goes for every form of art, do not add anything to the piece unless it adds to the piece as a whole. The little rocket projectile simply takes away from it and as a result makes the whole overlay look worse.

Overall it's not a half bad first attempt, but next time try to keep the basics in mind and you will do much better.

I personally prefer subtle overlays. Ones that aren't as distracting. I also don't see the point in an overall if it's not framing a facecam or promoting a sites like twitter/youtube.

I don't think you understand what I meant lol All you did was blur the image you were using.
When I say imitate their style I mean look at the angles they are using, the details they use, the highlight colors and shade colors of the metal, the angles the metal is formed in, the belt straps all over jynx, the style of the metal textures, not just making it a blurred bg clipped on a randomly shaped overlay.

Look at the really nice ones or the one the pro teams use, you will see consistency in angles, widths, heights, detail pieces, coloring, etc. I would say just scrap it and start over but really put some effort into A. the shape of the overlay and B. the style of the overlay.

And eric is right, generally the good overlays are thin and subtle, but still have the key details that the character they are based off of has incorporated into their design.
