Gill Sans is like a more rigid Optima, I see it a lot on restaurant menus

But Gill Sans is a proper sans serif font, I'm looking for a thin and thick style like Optima, but without the rounded curves.

select a few optima glyphs and circle the parts you dislike about them, and i'll help find something for you.

I don't like the rounded curves, I would like the exact same font, but with straight lines, I circled the rounded parts so you have an idea of what I'm talking about :

mkay, i see what you mean.

i can't think of any off the top of my head, but if you look around the internet for humanist sans-serif typefaces, you may find what you're looking for.

unfortunately the optima "pseudo-serifs" are what give the glyphs that slight curve and make the line weight look so dramatic in comparison.

good luck

Try this site. I have to recreate old CD packaging at my work all the time. This site is a great tool in finding fonts.http://www.identifont.com/identify.html

Oh and this site lets you upload a tiff of a font and it tries to identify the font from the image

I am not trying to identify the font, I already know which one it is...
