Its no Point to rate someones first try.
Read beginner tutorials.

Looks great for your first try however it is way above the maximum 70kb size (your current signature also and so is teazle's). For the signature that you just made I'd suggest saving it as a .jpeg and scaling the quality down to match an appropriate size (assuming you use Photoshop).

they should raise the standard to at lease 1mb

1mb would be too much, imo. You can get decent quality with 70kb, no problem. Also, there would be a lot of people with 0,99mb gifs, and my internet can't really handle that >.>

Nice job creating the base for the background. Now just use the render in such a way that flows with the signature. Beginner tuts should have different methods for you to experiment
