Hey guys, I'm pretty new to coloring, so I was playing around a bit to get the hang of it, but my sense for shading/lightsource is pretty pretty bad. I don't want super extra detailed hair or anything but atleast somewhat "ok ish".

work with 3d shapes before you start trying to do anatomy

unless you like that harsh lighting anime/comic look, then you should read into that style.

i think it would look nicer if you used the pen tool to color the entire thing.

of course it would require more effort than free hand brushing, but it will look a lot nicer.

it looks like you brushed it with a round brush. there's a curve at the end of almost every highlight/shadow

Yeah i did everything with a round soft brush/eraser. Got my pic on multiply and the shadings is basicly black/white so it finds the right tone alone. Pen tool should work better?
