Everytime I click on a new layer and I'm trying to move it around with the 'Move Tool' it will always mark my first layer instead and move that one. If you understand..

I have one layer selected, I want to move it a little bit, but it selects the first layer I had over and over.

whenever i try to move something with the move tool, it selects the top layer of wherever i click, which may or may not be the layer that is selected. it just auto selects the top layer that my cursor is on when i click.
i either adjust layers so i can see what i'm moving and make sure i click the image i want to move and re-arrange after that, or simply use shift + arrow keys.

Make sure auto select layer is unchecked

ctrl + t and move around freely I think
