My university Advisor writes for the After Effects college books and he had to have his tutorials submitted by the middle of May for the next version. He said their suites are generally in 18 month rotations and I believe CS6 released in April in 2012 so somewhere around October would be my guess. Although I think he may have said as early as August but I don't remember.

Thought it was all Creative Cloud only these days?

Eventually I assume, but there were some pretty cool added features in the After Effects suite that we got to demo in class. He did mention that they hadn't given it a name to what version he was working on so he didn't know if it would be 7 or CC or 6.5.
