We had a ~60" printer when I was in school and a printed a few HUGE posters. I now have a DSLR and would like something that could print some of my pics as well as other graphics. I really want something that can print up to around 20"x30" or so. Does anyone know much about large format printers and printing high quality images? The paper I used at school was not glossy at all and I dont even know if you can get the rolls in gloss.

I see a few printers on *** around the 20-30" range that are cheap but I dont know what to look for. I really just want to be able to print high quality images on nice paper.

You need a laser printer.
They are expensive.

Just use a print shop instead.

Why is laser needed? for the gloss? I have stuff tat was printed with an ink jet at that size but its just not glossy.

edit: did some light reading on ink jet vs laser and I dont see why i would need a laser

The one you used at school was a plotter. Hard to come by unless you rent it, pay a ton to own, find a print shop that has one or use one that a school has

They're all toner based

You can't possibly have that much ink
