anatomy/proportions of the characters are really off, environment looks great tho

Thanks. I've always struggled with characters. I most often use them to simply occupy a space I'm drawing rather than be the focus of the drawing. Any tips for drawing somewhat low detailed characters so that they don't overtake the scene i'm trying to portray?

when you draw try to focus more on what you see than what you think you see. for example, when you look at a person you can see the simple shapes that make up their figure first, and then look at the details / proportions that make them unique.
same goes for your trees, they look like a lot of repetitive twigs for the most part, use references to see how varied trees can look.
other than that, i like your works a lot, they'd be fun to add watercolor to

Thanks for the response. My trees are somewhat unrealistic by choice, as for my people... that's another story.
