I can't remember if there has been any tutorial threads here on the BASIC fundamental to drawing.
Not digital. I've tried digital before (not for long cause of frustration) but I just have a feeling it'd be better for me to learn how to draw paper/pencil before going digital.

I have a few sketches done. I was pleased with the outcomes but like I said.. very basic and not much too them.
I have also tried to learn some basic shapes/shades to learn how light works they seemed "OK" to me but when my brother saw them he said they weren't done properly. (he's a great artist)

Anyways tl;dr: help me learn to draw.
right now I'm just sticking to basic sketches.

Comics are cool.
I'd like to get into drawing comic style stuff. Not sure if that matters in the learning process.

check out "how to draw comics the marvel way", theres tons of pdfs around.
It's really basic, explains basics, and its pretty fun.

You could always go with a more formal kind of book, but I think you'd have a better chance sticking with it at the start drawing this cool shit

Just found an 11 part video on youtube I think roughly 45minutes long maybe longer that seems so incredibly helpful.
I watched a bit so far but have not tried anything yet. I might practice later today maybe post some results.

Thanks for the info.

any specific direction with drawing? figures? portraits? animals?

imo if your completely starting out, do a lot of perspective work.

That's exactly what the videos say to do.
I want to get into I guess cartoon/comic style stuff. Figures
Don't care too much for realism.

Edit: I guess anime cause dbz is a big inspiration :P love the art in that show.

Checked around Deviantart quickly for some cool stuff that I wish I could do.
I don't have anything to post because I've only done two things like stated before.
I did a sketch (more like an outline.. there isn't even any shade cause idk how to add it properly) of kid buu (from dbz)
and I did a bunch of shapes with lighting ect but I can't find that paper. I think I might have thrown it out :/

I could post the Buu if you want to see it.. but idk if it's really worth showing lol.

There's no real secret to it, grab a sketch book and fill it. You'll progress really fast if you stick with it

edit; live and die by the book of atomespy
