its an underpainting... I'm using one color...

this is awesome haha can i do the same with acrylic paint?

Its pretty hard to " glaze " with acrylic, which is what I will do once this underpainting dries. You can do this though, as it will help with establishing the values and original shapes/composition.

oh yeah... i guess i've never seen such a shaded underpainting
im curious to see how this turns out o;

Grisaille is the technique.

You can really push the values with this technique. Since you build up using multiple layers, and glazing creates a darker color, its very efficient.
