Hi! I want to start by apologizing if this is not the correct location for this topic!

THE SITUATION
I recently purchased a GoPro Hero 3 Silver edition. I have very minimal filming knowledge or experience. I have no editing equipment/software except GoPro's free cinema software and photoshop 7 (which to my understanding is only for still photos... and I'm not near my computer but I believe it's version 7).

WHERE I NEED HELP
I was wondering if there were any programs or software that are good so I can do slow motion, simple scene transitions, freezing a scene but still have sound/voice talking. Only thing I can do with the GoPro software is "crop" the film into segments. I'm not too interested in coloring balance and such...

Basically think of a medical documentary short film with a picture and somebody explaining it, a few interviews, and a point of view reenactment segment with periodic clip "freezing" to explain things. I need to do that...

THANKS FOR ANY HELP

I'll try window's since it's free and idk what I am doing yet haha... I think vegas and final cut seem a little too advanced for me and I wouldn't know what does what.

This helps though... its a good start for me!
