Second or third time trying this shit and I had to just completely stop. Couldn't finish this trash.
Following this tutorial and I swear something must be written wrong because I just can't for the life of me figure this shit out.

Arrgggg. Anybody know of a GREAT tutorial for smudging?
A video would probably be best since pictures are clearly not helping.

SO MAD.

do u use hardbrush 91% ?
turning the mouse speed down helps too!
and make circle movements to change the opacity of the smudge to give it some depth :)

its easier to manage with a tablet but

start with a bigger hardbrush then work your way with a smaller one

use longer strokes

the part where you use outer glow you used way too small of lines to outer glow

and that sig for the tut the guy made annoys me.
not only tyrese its just the flow of it and the focal of it is so off

I get so confused by this lmao.
Sane did something like this when he was teaching everyone and I clearly did not understand.

Thanks a lot though for trying :)

this is the thing

smudging is hard because of habits you made from not smudging

you have to learn to use long and less strokes over short and more strokes

its alot easier with a tablet.

also the trick of the above is retracing your steps

basically going back to the trail you made and reworking it

just think of smudging as pushing and pulling youre basically pushing what you grab across even if you've grabbed nothing you're pushing that nothing across

practice makes perfect.

another tip if you zoom in to smudge, zoom out every once in a while because you might mess up the flow of the sig if you don't check and get carried on with smudging happens alot to me
don't be afraid to grab the brushtool and add some more in to smudge or press ctrl alt z when you make a mistake
