I'll use my avatar as an example.
I want to change the sleeve color to red, so I opened it in PS, selected the sleeves, changed the color on each of the layers, saved it as a .gif, and this is the result I get:

What am I doing wrong here?

Make sure to save it for web, otherwise the animation isn't saved.

File -> Save for Web, Select GIF and press "Save..."

Opened it in photoshop, added a hue/saturation adjustment layer and a selective color layer to brighten the red, file --- save for web and devices --- save

upload
