Tablet is finally here! Not going to be posting stuff like crazy as i am in college and have projects and work thats actually due and upcoming but when i get the chance ill post stuff!

First ball... used elipse just to practice shading.. shading isn't perfect but I had to use the tablet as soon as i opened it :D!

should make the top bright, the bottom dark, you have a shadow directly under a light spot :huh:

It's reflected light from the floor so to speak. And I do appreciate the thought.

what brushes are you using?
also, there are no such things as black outlines in real life
nothing is every outlined in black lines, just a difference in value perceived by the eye

example:


stick to black and white to differentiate value easily for now

I'm only using a soft round brush right now, for the most part anyways. I'm mainly making sure I don't try to overdo it with too many fancy brushes since i'm starting out... What brushes do you recommend I use as a beginner?

check the four brushes here, they're all you need for almost any illustration/painting

Hard round big brushes.
