i used the latest version of gimp without any addons...

e/ i didnt make the chars... i just turned the render into a pop out esque type deal brb

It looks like your getting to know your way around gimp, how about trying a tutorial now. And keep learning!

Considering it's your first time with a popout, it's good. Don't be so lazy and you'd be surprised what you could do haha.

Look at tutorials. you say you have been with gimp for 8 years? looks like a bunch of clipping masks.

for the shadow:
i copied part of the original
pasted it on a new layer (layer A)
copied that layer and made one black (layer
faded the layer B and put it underneath layer A

i got a square with a shadow...


it was my first popout... i made it because nobody else would respond to my gfx request.....
i think it looks great...

and yes ive been a casual user of gimp for 8 years... ive made a few peices... learned a few tricks.. but im not a hardcore gfx artist...
