So a project for school is to create a seamless repeat pattern of tendrils/vines.. Which i simply took as floral pattern. I have the basic pattern I want, but for some stupid reason i can't seem to wrap my head around how to get it to become seamless.
If someone could give me a rundown or link a tutorial that could help me, please do. Here is the basic pattern.

Note this isn't the final pattern.... just the idea of it.
there are a few flaws on this that I am still going to work out such as the stem on the left side not going all the way to the edge of the square, etc. etc.

The basic idea is that whatever you have at the very top must be at the very bottom. Same for left/right.

I'm sure somebody else has a better way to do it, but you can get started with something at the top, let's say a short bit of stems. Copy, and flip it vertically. Paste it on the bottom. Repeat for left right. Once you have that foundation, you can continue with whatever pattern you wish.

For example, your picture.

Whatever you change inside the red box, it will still remain a seamless pattern as long as you don't change anything on the outside.

Alright... I will re attempt... I knew that was the basic idea of how to do it... I just couldn't wrap my head around how to do it with my pattern for some reason.

Keep in mind my example is just something easy because I only have paint atm.

It would probably be better to make larger stems, cut them in half (or w/e you want) and put the top half at the bottom and bottom half at top... if that makes sense.

Thanks for the help guys, I eventually got it. Had to change up the pattern itself but it turned out ok.
Here it is, so tell me what you think about it.
