I wouldn't recommend using a lens flare on anything, ever.. At least not the filter one that PS gives you. Also, you should just remove that script font off your computer. Keep at it though.

Font has always been a weak point for me anyone got any tips on choosing font; style, color, position etc

to be honest you should worry about font, unless you were really interested in typography pieces, because in most cases its a relatively small part of what you are doing. Work more on new techniques by following tutorials or even just thinking of a random idea and playing around
