My best guess is that this thread was closed for "Posted in the Wrong Forum" due to the fact that there is an official sketchbook/art work thread
here. I noticed that nickmfwood's sketchbook thread was also closed as well. If this was in fact the reason, which I'm just speculating that it is, then a large majority of the other topics should therefore be closed as well.
Personally, I don't really see any harm in having separate progression threads. I realize that this forum is not based on art related things, however there are some committed users in GD that honestly care about their work. Progression threads like that offer individualized attention and advice. They also allow the poster to look back on their own works and see the gradual improvement. CHurley's thread would still remain valid, as it does offer individuals to post their daily sketches. Obviously though, that thread is conglomeration of everyone's work. It's not individually specific and doesn't allow one person to easily review their own progress (without sifting through pages and pages).
Feel free to contact a JM for a more accurate and clear explanation for the reason of the closure, I'm sure that they will be able to enlighten you more than what I am able to since they actually handle this section

Regardless, Shattered will likely have to contact a JM about his topic to have it possibly re-opened or at least reviewed.
but it's not posting in the wrong forum. The rules of the GD forum clearly state:
You may ask for comments and criticism on your signature, drawn picture, or other designs.
You may talk about anything related to graphic design that doesn't already have a specific subforum for it.
There is not a specific subforum for a sketch book or progression. There may be topics that users have posted up, but those are not subforums.
There is nothing in the rules to suggest that a topic like the one TS posted is not allowed.
If TS's topic isn't allowed, then whats the point of the GD subforum? Why even have one if you are not allowing those who are actually interested in the subject/ Actually know something about it to post their work?
For some reason the mods seem to have a vedetta against GD. Those mods need to grow the hell up.
