how come when i fill the edges get really pixelated?

because your working in photoshop, you are just making a path and filling the path using pixels instead of vector points.

Yep, then import as a smart object. You can just copy in illy and hit paste in photoshop, and the dialog will pop up.

get adobe illustrator, indesign or corel draw if u want it to be smooth
