Figured i'd at least get the trolls by now telling me how bad I am.

In the first one, you have something in front of the face, maybe hair ? i think thats not a really good stock choice. It's really bothering me alot.
Both of them have really bad/washed out colors, you may have overused gradientmaps. And the effects aren't that appealing.

Main thing what is bothering me are the colors.

Don't gmap... like at all. It's a bad way to do colors

I've been trying to less and less lately. Lately I've been only doing black and white gradient when darkening is needed along with purple/orange on soft light. It's suppose to be monotone. Just trying to broaden my styles so I'm not focusing on one set thing.

do not purple / orange on soft light! that always looks so terrible!

I've seen it done in so many .psds

What would you recommend for lightening / darkening then? Also what about small adjustments?
